About College Credit Plus

What is College Credit Plus?

With Ohio's College Credit Plus (CCP) program, TRECA students are able to earn college and high school credits simultaneously by taking college courses from participating Ohio colleges. The program promotes rigorous academic pursuits and provides a variety of options for college-ready students.

Who can participate?

CCP is open to students in grades 7-12. TRECA students can apply for CCP admission to a public or participating private college. The college admits students based on their college readiness in one or more areas. Any student admitted to a college course will be expected to perform at the same level as the institution’s regular students.

Where do I start?

TRECA students must declare their Intent to Participate by April 1st for the following school year. A letter of intent is required to participate in CCP. If you're considering participating in CCP, submit a letter of intent! You're not required to take CCP courses after submitting the letter if you change your mind. Please contact your school counselor if you are interested in participating in the CCP program.

Sample College Credit Pathways

It's important for College Credit Plus (CCP) students to take courses that will maximize their progress toward a degree or certificate program. Each college has several CCP pathways available that outline the most common college courses that fit directly into specific degree/certificate programs. Students should speak directly with their college CCP Advisor to discuss their course options. Below are links to sample 15 hr/30hr pathways from 2 colleges. Remember, all Ohio public colleges and universities offer CCP and have their own CCP pathways.
