April 26, 2017

On Wednesday, April 26, TRECA Digital Academy students visited the Greater Cleveland Aquarium! Students and families had a 90-minute guided tour of the aquarium. They explored many exhibits that ranged from rescued tortoises to an 11,000 gallon stingray touch pool. They also walked through a 175 foot sea tube that takes you to the ocean floor where barracuda, grouper, and shark swim overhead! There are more than 1,400 animals representing 250 species. Students learned about aquatic life and conservation, and what they can do to help. Students then ended the day with a presentation on sharks! They learned how sharks are tracked, the important role they play in the biome, and why we study them.
