On Thursday, May 16, TRECA Digital Academy students enjoyed Career Day at the Marion TRECA office.
Students first heard from Christopher Orban, Assistant Professor of Physics at OSU Marion. Professor Orban talked about the physics of video games, and led a discussion about the physics in Mario Kart. Afterward, students tried their hands at computer coding! The students next heard from Staff Sergeant Noday from the U.S. Army. He discussed his photography career in the army, and shared the wide variety of careers available in the military.
Our next presenter was a trainer from Pilot Dogs. The organization trains and provides guide dogs to the blind free of charge. Students learned the training it takes to prepare the dog for its new owner, and saw a demonstration of how the dog guides its owner. After lunch, A-Rae’s Reptile Rescue informed students about reptile care. Students were able to touch some of the animals including snakes, turtles, and lizards!
Thank you to all our wonderful presenters for speaking at our Career Day!
