On September 24, TRECA Digital Academy students visited Hale Farm and Village in Bath, OH.
Hale Farm & Village is an outdoor living history museum that captures the story of the Hale family and their 200 year old family farm through interactive displays and historical interpreters. Through their tour of the village, students learned about how families lived, worked, and played long ago. Interactive displays and historical interpreters gave students a unique view into 19th century lives and skills.
The self-guided tour continued through the general store, school house, and glassworks barn. Hand-crafted skills were very important for families during this time, including glassmaking, yarn-making, sewing, and farming. Students also discovered the effect a local canal can have on small-town living.
