On September 23, TRECA Digital Academy Students visited the Akron Fossils and Science Center in Copley, OH.
The Akron Fossils and Science Center is an interactive space where students can explore the general science of our world in the past, present and future with hands-on educational opportunities. Students had the opportunity to hold real fossils and make their own replicas while learning about how fossils are formed, how long something takes to fossilize, and how to tell if a fossil is real or a replica. Students also interacted with several live animals including a ball python, madagascar hissing cockroach, guinea pig, Netherland dwarf rabbit, sugar glider, and ferret. This was a great tour with lots of hands-on learning!
