On July 26, TRECA Digital Academy students visited the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, OH.
Students interacted with hundreds of hands-on exhibits, galleries, artifacts, and media. The “Dinosaurs of the Sahara” exhibit brought the world of African dinosaurs to life with fossils, flesh models, and a giant 32-foot long Jobaria skeleton! Students also had the opportunity to see what life was like on board a working Great Lakes freighter, the William G. Mather steamship. This was a self-guided trip of the freighter where students could explore the 1925-built ship from stem to stern and see its huge cargo holds, brass and oak pilot house, elegant guest quarters, and four-story engine room.
