On March 31, TRECA Digital Academy students visited the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
Students split into smaller groups for a guided tour focused on the Early Years and WWII galleries. From the first flight of the Wright brothers to today’s modern jet engines, students learned about the major technological advancements that made aviation history. Students received scavenger hunt sheets to complete as they made their way through exhibits in the museum. The World War II Gallery, which houses one of the world's top collections of WWII aircraft and a variety of engaging exhibits tells the proud story of the U.S. Army Air Forces during the war. Military aircraft had been used in many different ways including as barnstormers, fighters, observation planes, bombers, and trainers. After the guided tour, students had the opportunity to explore the rest of the galleries in the museum.
