On November 20, TRECA Digital Academy students visited the Age of Steam Roundhouse in Sugarcreek, OH.
The unique museum houses locomotives, tools, and machinery and serves as an active roundhouse where restoration specialists work to preserve pieces of history. On a guided tour, students stepped back in time to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the 20th century. We saw the largest private collection of steam engines in the world, including 23 historic steam locomotives in various states of restoration. Families also learned about the specialized tools used to keep locomotives on the rails and what makes each engine unique.
