On April 8, 2024, Ohio saw its first total solar eclipse in over 200 years. The total solar eclipse lasted roughly three minutes, and a partial eclipse could be seen from all 50 states. To celebrate the phenomenon, TRECA included a solar eclipse activity sheet and solar glasses in the spring newsletters sent to students across the state. Some of the activities suggested for students included:
- Take a selfie with your eclipse glasses (being sure to follow ALL guidelines when viewing).
- Draw what you saw by creating a drawing or diagram that illustrates what you viewed.
- Solar Eclipse Art: create something that relates to or represents this year’s solar eclipse.
- Write about what you experienced.
