K-3 Students Have Fun at Testing Day

On August 27, TRECA students in Kindergarten through third grade attended a Back to School Testing event in Marion, OH.

The testing is part of TRECA’s requirement for the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. From the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, “Ohio's Third Grade Reading Guarantee is a program to identify students from kindergarten through third grade who are reading below grade level, and provide them with continued support throughout their K-12 academic career until they are reading proficiently. The Third Grade Reading Guarantee focuses on the development of individualized reading plans, the use of high-quality instructional materials, and targeted interventions.”

At the event, student also met their teachers, were provided lunch, received a free book and prize, and earned Gator Gold for attending.
