On May 7, TRECA students visited the Ohio School of Falconry in Columbus, OH.
The Ohio School of Falconry was founded in 2014 with the goal of making the Falconry experience accessible to people from all walks of life. During the program, students saw and learned about a variety of raptors from around the world, including owls, falcons, hawks, and buzzards. This program highlighted the important role each species plays in our natural world, discussed the relationships between predators and prey, and delved into raptor conservation efforts. Students learned about falconry, the difference between birds of prey vs raptors, and their important role in the ecosystem. After our program, students had the opportunity to participate in a falcon flight.
