On October 15, TRECA students took a trip to Sauder Village in Archbold, OH.
Sauder Village is Ohio’s largest living-history museum that recreates life in Northwest Ohio’s Great Black Swamp from 1803 to 1928. In this self-guided visit to the village, students visited costumed guides and working craftspeople as they made their way through historic buildings and shops. Students learned what life was like for Native Americans and early immigrants, how immigrants drained the swamp, and what advancements were made in travel and communication. From meeting with a broom-maker to standing in the county jail, this interactive field trip was full of hands-on learning.
