On September 17, students visited Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, OH.
Holden is one of the largest arboreta and botanical gardens in the United States. On a guided tour, students explored diverse ecosystems, learned about the mental and physical benefits of being outdoors, and viewed beautiful display gardens. Families were encouraged to observe their surroundings and find something that makes them curious and want to learn more.
Students also climbed to the treetops for the Murch Canopy Walk, a 500-foot-long elevated walkway that rises 65 feet above the forest floor. The tour ended at the Kalberer Emergent Tower, roughly 120 feet tall, which gave families a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.
