On October 1, TRECA students took a trip to Wildwood Preserve Metropark in Toledo, OH.
Wildwood Preserve Metropark is a nature reserve, historic estate, and the most visited of the Toledo Metroparks. Students participated in a river study by investigating what lives below the surface of ponds and rivers, using scientific field sampling techniques to determine the health of a river through chemical analysis. Families were very engaged and students loved finding and identifying their samples to determine how polluted the water was.
