Edmentum/PLATO: Submitting Documents to Drop Boxes

Getting Started

Since drop box assignments are typically a large portion of your overall course grade, it is suggested that you start those assignments as soon as possible. Be sure your work for the drop box is being saved so you will be able to submit it when completed. Drop box assignments are in the English and Physical Education courses and typically housed in a separate folder. They will be similar to the images below.

Upload File

All drop boxes will be labeled with the drop box icon in Edmentum/PLATO. You will want to first make sure your completed drop box assignment is saved to your computer in a readable format, preferably as a .pdf or .doc file. Select the assignment name by the drop box icon then select “Play.” Below is an example for a Physical Education course.

You will want to first make sure your completed drop box assignment is saved to your computer in a readable format, preferably as a pdf or doc. To open the drop box, click on the Drop Box tile. Click "Upload New File."

After you have selected “"Upload New File", you will see an image similar to this and then select the “Upload File” button.

After clicking on “Upload New File”, you will see this screen. Click on the “Choose File” button.

Locate your saved file on your computer and select it. Then click the “Open” button.

You will then see the image below. Select the “Upload File” button.

You will see your file listed on screen.

Submit Assignment

Click on the square to the left of your file name, then select the “Submit Selected Files” button.

Select the icon to the left of Submit for Scoring and then, click the “Submit File(s)” button.

This screen confirms that your file has been sent to the teacher for a grade. Make sure you see the message as shown below in the golden/orange rectangle.

Grading

When you exit the lesson using the icon on the upper right to return to your lessons page, you will see that the lesson is in progress. Please allow teachers several business days to grade your assignment. If your assignment was not accepted, typically the teacher will reset the activity. Assignments are typically rejected if the teacher cannot view it, the assignment did not meet requirements, or if the assignment was plagiarized. If the score for the drop box assignment is below 60% or the assignment is rejected, then you must redo or revise, and then re-submit the assignment until the minimum required 60% score is earned.

The Drop Box Tile will turn green after the teacher grades the assignment. You will need to check your score to be sure it meets the minimum requirement. If not, your transcript will show 0 credit, I (incomplete). Below is an example of a graded assignment for English. Although the lesson tile is green, the score shows as 0% which does not meet the minimum requirements. This student must redo the assignment and contact the advisor or flex@treca.org to reset the lesson so it can be resubmitted.

If the assignment is rejected or did not earn the minimum required score, please select the assignment name next to the drop box icon , then “Comment Log” icon for feedback from the teacher. If the posted score is below 60%, then you must revise and/or redo the assignment. Email your advisor or flex@treca.org to reset the lesson so you can submit it again. The score for each drop box assignment must be at least a 60%.

Below is an example of a graded drop box assignment for Physical Education. For this example, the lesson tile is now green and the score shows as 100% which does meet the minimum requirements. For additional clarification, contact your advisor or flex@treca.org.
