Student iPhones that are on our proxy filtering system will need to be switched to our new relay filtering system. This is the second option for updating your iPhone.
Before starting, iTunes needs to be updated. On your school computer, click the start button in the bottom left corner and then click Apple Software Update.
A small window will open in the middle of your screen. Make sure iTunes has a check mark next to it, click Install.
Note: After the update you should be prompted to restart the computer. If you aren't prompted, then restart the computer yourself.
Now that iTunes is up to date, you need to plug the iPhone into the computer using your USB cord. The phone will ask you to trust the computer, please click Trust.
iTunes will open on the computer asking to allow the computer access to the phone, click Continue.
Now you are on the welcome screen of iTunes, click Agree.
Now that you are in iTunes you will want to click the small phone icon on the upper left side.
Note: This icon is very small and can easily be missed. Look at the picture below, the icon is highlighted in red. If you do not see this icon, unplug the phone and plug it back in. This should allow the phone icon to show up in iTunes.
Once you are on the Welcome to Your New iPhone screen, make sure Set up as new iPhone is selected and then click Continue.
On the Sync with iTunes screen, click Get Started.
In the phone settings screen, click Summary on the left hand side and then click Restore iPhone.
A small window will open asking if you want to backup before resetting. If you have photos that you need for any classes, you can choose the Back Up option. Most students will click Don't Back Up.
Another small window will appear, click Restore and Update.
The last two windows are agreeing to terms with the update. In the first window click Next and in the second window click Agree.
Note: This is a large update and will take some time to install. The phone will need to be set up again after it finishes.
If you encounter any issues please reach out to the Help Desk at 888-828-4798 ext. 2791.

On the Keep Your iPhone Up to Date screen, click Continue.
On the Screen Time screen, click Continue or Set Up Later in Settings.
Note: This is just an iPhone feature that tells the user time spent on apps.
