Not sure where to turn? Turn to SAFE.
The SAFE team provides assistance to TRECA Digital Academy students that are experiencing social-emotional and family problems that may be serving as barriers to learning. If you're in need of assistance or just need someone to talk to, please reach out! We're always a phone call or email away and are here to help however we can.
Contact SAFESAFE assists students and their families with a wide range of issues including mental health, child neglect, child abuse, depression, bullying, suicide, homelessness, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and more. Our SAFE Specialists are available to counsel students and parents, help students, parents, and teachers work together, help families access community resources and services, and help students be successful and achieve their full potential.
We know students today have a lot to deal with. If we can help address problems outside the classroom, it can affect how well students do inside the classroom. You'll achieve more if you feel safe, secure, and are having your physical and emotional needs met.
Our SAFE Specialists try to determine why students are having problems, whether academic, behavioral, physical, or emotional. We work with families to provide services that will help solve problems that can keep students from reaching their full potential.
SAFE Specialists also work with parents, who oftentimes do not know where to turn when faced with problems. We can make home visits and work with parents to help access resources they might need.
We know students are juggling a lot these days: family, friends, school, work, and extracurricular activities. The list could go on and on. It is completely normal for students to feel a range of emotions while trying to manage and tackle all of these things. They may feel stressed, sad, lonely, or hopeless. It is also normal for students not to know how to handle these emotions. The SAFE team is committed to helping students stay in tune with their mental health, cope with the stresses of life, and realize their full potential. If you or someone you know may be struggling with their mental health, please reach out to a SAFE team member or a community resource for help.
